Are you ready to geek out on how I do my work? Let’s go.
The theoretical foundation is called Natural Family Systems created by Dr. Murray Bowen. At the heart of my interpretation of this theory is that…
We all struggle to manage the life forces of autonomy and togetherness. We struggle to find the middle road between these two.
We want to pendulum-swing between the two ends and be either ruggedly independent and end up isolated, or we want to be overly together. You’ve heard of this as co-dependent. Fused.
Attending to and being curious about who you are is at the base of my work. What are your values? Where do you want to go? What do you want? Who are you?
The answers to these questions can ground you when disapproval comes your way. When negative energy comes your way. When someone close to you is in distress, and all you want to do is fix it or run away.
This can help you stick with the discomfort of others without attempting to rescue them or cut off from the relationship.
The Focal Points of My Work
Finding out who you are
Taking responsibility for what belongs to you. No more, no less.
Often, we take too much responsibility = Others’ feelings are our guide in a day
We do not take enough responsibility = Indulging in others taking care of things that belong to us –
our feelings, our emotions, our body.
Want to stop feeling like you don’t know who you are or
like you are tethered to someone else’s feelings?
Give me a call, and let’s see if we are a good fit to work together.
